The final layer is chrome, which creates the bright cosmetic finish. Once the finish is complete an injection molded polymer insert is applied to the wheel. This insert is coated using a vacuum metallization process where the evaporated aluminum particles adhere to the polymer and condense to form a uniform layer with a bright chrome appearance, giving this wheel a beautiful chrome on chrome appearance.
